If you have advanced as a competitive tournament player and have a proven tennis record, varsity college tennis may be for you. More than 20,000 student-athletes compete at the varsity level every year on over 1,200 college campuses, so there may just be a place for you to take your game to a new and exciting level.

In addition to providing American collegiate student-athletes with opportunities and support in collegiate, professional and international events, the USTA also provides college tennis information and resources to junior players, parents and coaches:

For junior players who want to continue playing at the collegiate level, information is available to them, including:
  • Collegiate Information Sessions, Showcases and Forums - Prospective student-athletes can learn more about the college recruiting process to find the program and school best suited for their tennis and academic goals.
  • Recruiting Information - The USTA has an agreement with NCSA Athletic Recruiting, a company that educates, assists and connects college coaches with committed student-athletes and sports-minded companies.

NCAA Information

College sports offer student-athletes opportunities to learn, compete and succeed. To read more of facts and figures regarding NCAA athletics, including the number of participants, graduation rates and more, see the NCAA's Recruiting Fact Sheet.

College-bound student-athletes preparing to enroll in a Division I or Division II school need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to ensure they have met amateurism standards and are academically prepared for college coursework. Click here for more information.


Scholarship opportunities also are available through the USTA. The USTA Foundation, the national charitable organization of the USTA, offers college scholarships to deserving youngsters who have participated in USTA and/or other organized youth tennis programs.
